What's the difference between an Assessment and an Inspection?
We use the term “inspection” for the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation final inspection, required by state law to be performed within one year of occupancy of a new building or altered space, and based solely on the Texas Accessibility Standards.
An “assessment” is an independent survey of an existing building or property, which assesses the level of compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and any other agreed upon access standard.
What’s the difference between an Assessment and Consulting?
Assessments are a specific consulting service in which we typically perform a full survey of an existing building or property. Pricing and terms are fixed contractually.
Consulting is typically handled on an hourly basis, and may involve a face to face meeting, on-site survey of one or two specific items of concern, or any other type of non-assessment consultation.
How soon can you assess our facility once there is an agreement to proceed?
We try to schedule them just as quickly as our client wishes. Typically, we perform work in the field within 10 business days of a signed agreement.
How soon do I receive the assessment report?
The assessment report is sent to the client within 10 business days of having performed work in the field.
Can I receive a quote for a facility assessment over the phone?
No. We price assessments based on a number of variables, including
number of floors, square footage, parking lots/garages and scope.
The potential client provides this information through our Assessment
Request Form, and from this we produce a proposal or engagement letter
that includes pricing.
